Western Cape CoLab launches new data visualisation portal for Digital Inclusion data
The CoLab recently embarked on a project to use innovative geographical and spatial technologies to create a publicly available data visualisation portal for Digital Inclusion data. Our focus at present is specifically on the Western Cape and we hope this resource will be useful for academics, government, community intermediaries and citizens in general.
In the process of construction of this data portal we also aimed to start visualising some of our recent research (for example, our recent work on digital inclusion intermediaries active in the Western Cape).
We also invited our stakeholder base to contact us with regards to potential datasets/spatial data that we may link or add to our initiative, with the purpose of making this knowledge more open and accessibly available.
Watch this space, as we will soon also share recent updates on the platform, as well as conference papers presented at the IAMCR - International Association for Media and Communication Research's 2019 conference in Madrid.
Our work was presented at a pre-conference entitled:
ERA OR ERROR OF TRANSFORMATION? ASSESSING AFROCENTRIC ATTRIBUTES OF DIGITALISATION.
